Energy Cost Savings

Everyone is now seeking to reduce their energy costs, particularly that of electricity and there are various ways that this can be achieved. For Example, Power Factor Correction, Energy saver lamps and light fixtures, LED lighting installations.

Halogen Downlights – Safety Alert

Be safety conscious and install heat shield caps over Halogen downlights in your ceiling spaces. These caps will assist in preventing fires in your home from the intense heat of the Halogen lamps and light fixtures which can create a dangerous situation when installed close to cables, wood rafters, debris and so on that might collect in your ceiling over the years.

New Rules on Fluorescent Lamps

The Federal Governments wants everyone to reduce energy usage and they have introduced new rules to assist in that process.
Cost savings in existing fluro light fittings can be made by using new technology 36 watt Tri phosphor fluro tubes. Customers will benefit from:

• Improved Illumination Output
• Tubes last longer with more light for a longer period with reduced dimming.
• Increased savings compared with standard T8 tubes.

Customer should also specify the latest slim-line T5 tubes in any new office installation or renovation that they undertake. These are even more efficient that the new T8 tubes but they are installed only in new technology light fittings.

New Lighting Systems

As another example, Walmart in the US is in the process of replacing a substantial quantity of its high voltage Neon signage with the latest low voltage LED signage. This means literally thousands of Walmart shops and properties will be equipped with LED technology over the next few years.
